HAVE YOUR SAY

Checklist

Before you submit your response, work through this checklist of DOs and DON'Ts to ensure your submission will be considered.

DO

  • DO ensure that your response only includes points that the Council considers to be 'planning considerations'. See Points to Consider for examples of substantive planning considerations.

  • DO ensure that your work is your own - responses must be individual otherwise they risk being rejected.

  • DO ensure that your responses are specific - any comments need to be considered and contain as much detail as possible.  You're writing a rationale, a set of statements of purpose and significance.  If, once you have reviewed it, you are comfortable that you've clearly explained your 'why', then you've done your job!

  • DO ensure that you provide a detailed response for each site you wish to comment on.  There are four closed question types that invite a simple yes or no answer.  Don't fall for it - make sure you include your reasoning!

  • DO submit your response before the deadline of 7 March 2025.  Any submissions made after this date will not be considered.

  • DO remember that your responses will be made publicly available on the SWLP website (the postal address, telephone number and email address of individual respondents will not be published).  Please note that by submitting your details you are agreeing to Stratford-on-Avon District Council and Warwick District Council using your information as appropriate throughout the South Warwickshire Local Plan process. You can ask for your name to be removed from their records by emailing swlp@stratford-dc.gov.uk  or  swlp@warwickdc.gov.uk . You are also agreeing to your response being shared with both Councils so that your views can be considered by both parties.

DON'T

  • DON'T include points that are NOT what the Council would consider to be 'planning considerations'.  See Points to Consider for further information.

  • DON'T copy and paste a response.  If responses look too similar they likely to be counted as one response or discounted altogether.

  • DON'T give generic responses - you need to provide considered comments with as much detail as possible. You're writing a rationale, a set of statements of purpose and significance.  If, once you have reviewed it, you are comfortable that you've clearly explained your 'why', then you've done your job!

  • DON'T miss the deadline of 7 March 2025.  Any submissions made after this date will not be considered.
