SAVE LAPWORTH
Keep our village 'a village'
Stratford-on-Avon and Warwick District Councils are working together to produce a new South Warwickshire Local Plan (2050) to cover our combined geographic area for the next 25 years.
The main purpose is to make land available for housing and employment. With a government commitment to build nationally 300,000 new houses per year, Warwick District Council (WDC) and Stratford District Council (SDC) must build their share - this is not negotiable.
The two Councils have identified and assessed 12 possible new settlement sites, 24 strategic growth sites, as well as running a 'Call for Sites' to identify sites for infill development across South Warwickshire.
IF YOU'RE A RESIDENT OF LAPWORTH PARISH THIS AFFECTS YOU.

UNDERSTAND
Do you oppose an increase in the Lapworth Parish from 1,900 residents to 11,900*?
An area south of Kingswood, sweeping round to Rowington has been identified in the South Warwickshire Local Plan as a potential location for a new housing settlement (C1).
A large area on the edge of Hockley Heath has been identified as a Strategic Growth area (SG24).
There is a current call for sites for infill development around these areas.
You can find out more here.
*This would be an increase from C1 alone. Further development in SG24 and infill, would result in an even bigger increase.
